DCB carries out its functions in two complementary ways. First, it vertically links the academic sector and the industrial sector through the promotion of applied scientific technology. Its pilot plants develop technologies derived from academic research and subsequently transfer them to private industry. Second, DCB horizontally introduces and adapts suitable biotechnologies from around the world, and transfers them to domestic industries.
