Dosage forms of transdermal drug delivery

《Transdermal formulation》

▲Introduction/characteristics

Transdermal is a novel administration route and it can replace the conventional oral absorption and subcutaneous injection. It also can avoid the first pass effect of the liver and can reduce infectious risks from the subcutaneous injections.

1.Patch dosage forms: They apply semi-solid dispersed-drug ingredients, process with surface coating and drying to evenly distributed drugs on the patch sheets. They are used as a dosage form of an adhesive transdermal absorption.
2.Drug-containing dressings: Mixing drugs and tissue fluid absorbable materials, sterilely process with surface coating and curing. This will produce a wound applicable and healing promoting dosage forms.

《Nasal delivery systems》

▲Introduction/characteristics

Apply the emulsification technology and to prepare to trans-nasal mucosal absorbable formulation. This will combine with the design of nasal spray and produce as a dosage form which can be used as the local treatment of nasal cavity or central nervous system drug delivery.

1.Nasal trans-mucosal enhancing dosage forms: drugs with high molecular weight can increase its drug nasal penetration by adding the absorption enhancers.
2.Central nervous system-targeted trans-nasal drugs: Thendrugs can be absorbed into cerebrospinal fluid and enter the central nerves by the superior nasal concha which is closely attached cribriform plate.

▲Introduction/characteristics

Assessment of percutaneous penetration of drugs: This assessment of percutaneous penetration of drugs is an important investigation tool for drug and cosmetic studies for external applications. Through the assessment, the similarity of the drug releasing curves will be compared.
